Recipe -- Slow Cooker Pineapple Teriyaki Drumsticks

How to Feed a Teenage Boy by Georgia Orcutt
Don't be afraid to stray from skinless chicken breasts on occasion. Drumsticks are cheaper and provide iron and protein. Use a slow-cooker to gently simmer the flavorful meat until it is literally falling from the bone and needs to be eaten with knife and fork. Toss all the ingredients together in the slow-cooker in the morning and leave a note telling your son to help himself when he comes home from school, or serve as a quick evening meal with whole-grain bread, a green vegetable, and salad.
Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients

* 1 cup pineapple juice
* 1/2 cup teriyaki marinade
* 10 to 12 chicken drumsticks (about 3 pounds)

Directions
Combine the pineapple juice and marinade in the slow-cooker and stir to blend.

Add the chicken and gently stir to coat with the sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

Serve hot or warm.
